Wheel-thrown and hand-finished in stoneware, this large planter pot is high on design. A strong silhouette reads from a distance, while precise, hand-carved line work at the base reveals itself up close—rewarding a second look. Two hand-formed handles offer a steady grip as you move it into place, making it as functional as it is considered.

As with most of my designs, the natural clay body is thoughtfully included in the glaze application—grounding each piece and highlighting the material it came from. This piece features a Matte Black glaze.
Each Sunyata piece carries a small hand-carved maker’s mark at the base—a quiet signature from the hands that made it.
Ceramics is an intimate craft. Each piece is made entirely by hand, carrying time, energy, and attention to detail. While the same care goes into every piece, no two turn out exactly alike—the subtle variations in form and finish are what give each one its character and purpose.

Materials:
Every planter pot at Sunyata is made from gray stoneware clay with fine black speckling. All glazes used are food-safe and non-toxic—a standard held across the studio.
