Durability & Handling

Every measure is taken to create a technically sound and durable form, finished to a high degree. That said, these are still handmade objects. 

 

Delicate rims, defined edges, and beveled feet can be susceptible to chipping if handled improperly. Avoid harsh contact with hard or unforgiving surfaces, and take care when stacking or storing.

 

A little awareness goes a long way.

Cleaning & Daily Use

All Sunyata pieces are finished using food-safe, non-toxic glazes and are safe for everyday use.

 

Dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to ensure longevity. When hand washing, use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Surfaces may become slippery when wet—handle with care.

With regular use, subtle changes in the surface may occur. These shifts are natural and reflect the life of the piece.

Microwave & Temperature

​

All pieces are microwave safe, though care should be taken when heating.

 

Surfaces may become hot to the touch. Avoid extreme temperature changes to prevent thermal shock (for example: moving directly from cold to very hot). Allow pieces to adjust gradually when possible.

Natural Wear

​

Over time, interiors may develop slight discoloration depending on what they hold. This is especially true with coffee, tea, and other heavily pigmented liquids.

 

This is not a flaw, but a quiet record of use.
